  • Greater indoor comfort. The conventional insulation in your attic does not block heat, it just slows it down. Tiny air pockets in this insulation (which is usually fiberglass) heat up through the day. By late afternoon, this air pockets in your insulation are quite hot, and this heat conducts into the ceiling below, then radiates into your living spaces throughout the evening. The uncomfortable clammy feeling you may get indoors during a summer evening is radiant heat energy from the ceiling striking your skin. Since Attic Shield™ keeps your attic cooler, your ceiling stays cooler too.
  • Lower electric bills. As you might expect, the greatest source of your home’s daily heat gain is solar radiation striking the roof and heating up the attic. A Florida attic can reach 150°F during the summer months. Attic Shield™ reflects this energy back toward the roof, so your attic stays much cooler. And of course, less energy is available to radiate into your living spaces if the attic stays cooler. This means you will spend a lot less to keep your home cool and comfortable.
  • Better central air conditioning performance. If you find that your central air conditioning system sometimes can’t keep your home as cool as you would like during the hottest weather, Attic Shield™ will help in two ways. First, because the total heat gain into your home will be reduced, your air conditioning system won’t have to work as hard to keep the indoor air at the same temperature setting it may have had difficulty maintaining before. Not ordinary aluminum foil. While Attic Shield™ may seem similar to aluminum foil, the product installed in your attic is quite different than common foil. Sunfire™ Attic Shield™ has a layer construction with two sheets of thicker aluminum foil than the kitchen products, and a tough layer of woven mesh in between the foil sheets. No need to worry about tearing in your attic.
